According to l’Equipe, France’s number one sport newspaper and magazine, Tignes is the sportiest town in France, thanks to:

The ONLY French ski resort to be ACTIVELY and OPENLY gay-friendly

The resort where Fit Lad Mountain, Europe’s only summer gay fitness and sports week, takes place was not chosen at random and the choice of Tignes is the result of a rigorous selection process, particularly with regard to the quality of the resort’s welcome of gay customers.

Since 2008, with the European Snow Pride, the biggest gay ski week in Europe, it is in fact a real in-depth work that we have carried out jointly with all the actors of the resort (town hall, tourist office, accommodation providers, ski lifts, etc.), in order to make them aware of the specificities and expectations of LGBT customers.

In short, in Tignes you are welcome as you are and you are at HOME !

• In January 2013, Tignes publicly declared itself in favour of gay marriage and invited France’s first gay couple to the resort, which they accepted.
• Also in 2013 Tignes, which attracts high level competiton sportsmen signed the charter against homophobia in sports.
• In 2015, for the 1st time ever in a ski resort, Tignes hosted a gay pride durig our event. Since then, the Pride of Tignes takes place every year with the Mayor himself leading the march and Tignes starts the ball rolling in all the northern hemisphere, since the Pride of Tignes is the first one of the year to take place.
• In 2019, the city council unanimously voted Tignes’ candidacy for the label “FRIENDLY” rewarding communities with a voluntarist policy and adopting the right actions towards diversity. This label has been awarded to the city council during the Pride of Tignes the same year.
• Last, on June 30, 2019, Tignes took part alongside European Snow Pride to the World Pride in New York, which gathered more than 3 million people. Responding to the invitation of the organization of the World Pride, Tignes and European Snow Pride have been marching nearly 10km on the 5th and 7th avenues, along with 1,000 other volunteers, carrying a giant 450 meter long rainbow flag
• Tignes has been hosting and supporting a gay ski week since 2008, the European Snow Pride, and now also hosts a gay summer event week, Fit Lad Mountain, focusing on fitness, relaxation and mountain discovery activities.

Tignes’ repeated commitments confirm its status as a gay-friendly resort that attracts gays from all over the world, summer and winter alike.

An exceptional level of equipment, infrastructure and services

Tignes boasts some of the finest facilities envied by many other resorts, dedicated to sports and events throughout the Alps, including its superb aquatic and wellness centre, the Lagon.

Right in the centre of Tignes le Lac, directly on the banks of the lake, and in the immediate vicinity of our host hotel, the Terril Blanc, this 5,000 m2 space with its astonishing architecture brings together three areas dedicated to sport and the pleasures of the body and relaxation.
